This book contains papers given at a conference in the Irish College to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II. The speakers included Fr Joseph Fitzmyer, SJ., on Biblical Renewal since the Council; Dr. Gavin D’Costa on inter-religious dialogue, and Dr. Dermot Lane on the Irish Experience of the Second Vatican Council.The collection discusses various aspects such as such the reception of the Second Vatican Council is still a work in progress, in particular with regard to our appreciation of the Bible in the Church, our relationships with other religions and the implementation of the Council’s vision in the Irish Church.
