Gather in My Name is primarily for groups who come together to read and reflect on the scriptures in a prayerful way. It will also be helpful for personal prayer and for formal prayer periods like the Holy Hour.Each of the twenty prayer-sessions starts with a human experience, from 'Joining a group' to 'Times of stress' to 'With all who suffer', etc. An introductory prayer, which puts words on the experience and the feelings it arouses, is followed by a reading from the gospel. A short period for personal reflection and sharing on the reading is then followed by Fr O'Flynn's meditation on it. This meditation leads into prayer and the meeting ends with a final reflection entitled 'Jesus replies...'Gather in My Name will help:• to put words on our experiences and feelings• to listen to the Gospel of Jesus• to reflect on his word touching our lives• to hear his loving message whispered in our hearts
