Michel de Verteuil guides the reader through the process of lectio divina with each Sunday gospel for Year B - the Year of Mark.
Each gospel text is followed by a reflection on the content of the reading, and a prayer which, it is hoped, will assist those who would like to move on to further prayer.
The main purpose of the book is to help readers enter more fully into the richness of the gospel message and, in so doing, to associate themselves in prayer and reflection with the wider church community.
Michel de Verteuil CSSp has been director of the lay apostolate in the Archdiocese of Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago for the past 23 years. During this time he became interested in the method of lectio divina, a method which he has helped to spread in the Caribbean, in Ireland, in Canada, and by means of the Internet, throughout the world.
He was Rector of the Regional Seminary of the Caribbean for eight years, Provincial of the Holy Ghost Fathers in Trinidad for twelve years, and is now director of a Centre for Biblical Renewal.
