Seinn Alleluia 2000 is a new collection of liturgical music for use during Jubilee Year 2000.It features material from respected Irish and international composers. The book has been produced by the Advisory Committee on Church Music and edited by Fr Pat O’Donoghue.This collection has been especially compiiled for use at events at diocesan and parish level during Jubilee Year 2000. To this end the book features indices which will help with the planning of liturgies around the key jubilee themes of Prayer, Reconciliation, Eucharist and Pilgrimage. The Advisory Committee on Church Music hope to promote the book at various centres throughout the country in the autumn.The collection contains several pieces by Irish composers which are being published for the first time. Amongst these are John McCann’s Let Me Hear Your Voice which won first prize in the 1997 RTÉ Church Music competition. There is also a new Liam Lawton composition entitled There is a Place. Other Irish composers contributing to Seinn Alleluia 2000 include Margaret Daly-Denton, Ephrem Feeley, Sue Furlong, Donal Hurley, Ronan McDonagh, Paul Nash OSB, Máire Ní Dhuibhir, Ite O’Donovan and Maria O’Reilly.
